WHRF works with Pharma & Food Science which is an independent research centre based in the US, working with worldwide Christian based ethically reputable clinical centres for clinical excellence.
We help pharmaceutical companies to develop medicines for the treatment of many diseases. We are in the phase 1 unit, which means clinical trials are performed with healthy volunteers. In some cases, we merge research on patients that have the illness that a particular medicine or supplement is used to treat. These are known as phase 2 trials.
What Is A Clinical Trial?
Whenever a new chemical substance is discovered that may have some beneficial effect on the human body, it needs first to be developed and tested before it can be used. The substances come from various sources as plants, herbsm etc. The conventional way, these days, most are synthetically made.
For every new medicine to make the grade, around 10,000 chemical substances have been examined and of these, only about 800 to 1,000 make it to the pre-screening stage.
Then only 5 to 10 of the substances that have been through this stage will go forward to be tested on humans. Before human testing can begin, all the prescreening information has to go before an independent Ethics Committee who will evaluate and check that it is safe and not likely to cause harm to volunteers.
There are 4 phases to the human testing of new drugs, which aims at making sure that the safety of our volunteers is the highest priority.
